Ever notice how much the word "soy" is popping up on food ingredient lists these days? Let me give you a few examples: tuna (generic and StarKist brands), cooking spray (generic), and tortillas (most varieties). Interestingly enough, the tuna ingredient list does not reflect the word "soy," rather right below it it states "Contains: Fish (Tuna), Soy." In this case I had to wonder, what is this food product I am buying then? Apparently it is not just tuna. What portion of this "tuna" is tuna and what portion of it is soy?
I scoured the surrounding shelves where all the various cans of tuna sat and could not find one single can of tuna that did not have "soy" listed somewhere on its packaging. As a consumer, I am perplexed as to why I am not able to simply purchase plain old tuna anymore.
Let me know what other food products you discover "soy" in.
